A Little About Myself.I have always been inspired by art and the different aspects of design. My art education background include attending the Detroit Society of Arts and Crafts in Detroit, Michigan which is now known as the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit, Michigan. While attending school I also received some training in drafting skills during my employment with UDDG Urban Design Development Group AIA in Detroit Michigan. After moving to Los Angeles, California, I enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) and received a degree in Merchandising. After graduating from FIDM, I undertook a career in the commercial art field applying my skills as a production artist and layout artist at J.C. Penny Department Store in their advertising department located in the California Mart in downtown Los Angeles. While working as a freelance artist, I also did some fashion illustration for the California Apparel News and of course layout and production for various newspaper inserts and ads for J.C. Penny and Bullocks Department Store in Los Angeles. In 2004 I became a member of the Society of Western Artist which is now known as the Society of West Coast Artist and entered numerous juried art show competitions and received several 1st place awards in mixed media. Received Signature Artist status in 2009, and served as 1st and 2nd Vice President and show chairman within the organization (2005 - 2008). Currently using a mixed-media approach to art and a specific color palette in watercolor, and applying marbled mulberry momi paper, mango leaf paper, thai unryu mulberry paper and banana paper in achieving a unique look and style for each art piece produced.
